Future Plan
Scope of work of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare:
1. Determining health and family welfare policies
2. Conduct teaching, training and research on medical, nursing, dental, pharmaceutical, para-medical and other related subjects
3. Production and standardization of pharmaceutical and biomedical products
4. Determining standards in the import and export of medicines
5. Management and control of abandoned pharmaceutical matters
6. Related to the development, prevention, cure and rehabilitation of medical and health services
7. Health and related National / International Associations / Organizations which are government sanctioned, such as TB Association, Diabetic Association, BMRC, SMF, BNC, BCPS, BMDC, Pharmacy Council, Nutrition Council, Dhaka Children's Hospital, National Medical Institute Hospital, BNSB etc. Monitoring and support donations.

   A) Public health
   B) Birth and death registration
   C) Control of adulterated products harmful to health
   D) Control of epidemics, infectious and contagious diseases
   E) Health insurance
   F) Determining and controlling the quality of food, water and health related products
   G) Smoking prevention
   H) Diseases related to nutrition research, education and malnutrition
   I) Creation of public awareness through health education
9. The following matters
   A) Determination and regulation of medical profession
   B) Regarding the administration and coordination of institutions related to medical education and research
   C) Mental disorder

12. River ports and airport health institutions

13. Health examination of sailors

14. National Malaria Eradication Program

15. Malaria control
16. Management of hospitals and pharmacies
17. Science based associations / agencies related to the Ministry
18. Homeopathic, Unani and Ayurvedic medicine
19. Control of offensive advertising of drugs, medicines, dairy foods and tobacco
20. Rehabilitation of supportive medical personnel
21. Extended immunization program
22. Exemption in medical field for government employees except the following
   A) Railway service employees
   B) Defense service personnel and
   C) Regulated by Medical Attendance Rule

23. Formation of Medical Examination and Medical Board for Civil Service
24. Sports & Health Resorts
25. Counter-signing of medical bills of non-profit organizations.
